Read this, it will add a further dimension to your thinking (making a grand total of two).

It would be helpful if you linked to the interview.

I don’t think anyone knows for sure what’s going to happen if we default; we’ve never actually done so before. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to sweat my VA check for some GOP grandstanding.

And, just as a reminder, the tax cut extension sucked but I bet those folks who had their unemployment extended were a bit happier for it.

Thanks for the information, but all the goings-on is, as I have suggested, Kabuki theater.
Anyone with with a micro-gram of knowledge would realize what the Republicans are offering is national suicide and a game of chicken on steroids. It is an impossible scenario and will not happen (about 0.0002912% probability).

Thanks,

MHz

It was The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, today on MSNBC.

Elisabeth, the long-term unemployed was a “fix”, i.e., a “get-out-of-jail-free” card for President Obama to enable him to sign the extension, which was the “agreed” plan.

1. President Obama, when he was running against Hillary, said he was going to reverse the Bush tax legislation if he were elected.

2. After he was elected, he said he would let them “sunset”, i.e., expire on December 31, 2010.

3. The House didn’t pass the legislation until AFTER the Nov 2010 elections. Why?? Hmmmm….

4. Then the concept of “hostage-taking”.

QUESTION: How many nails are required to keep the lid down?

Circumstantial evidence and direct evidence.

Perception is in the mind of the perceiver.

Thankx,

mz
